The Borough of East Berlin, Pa is seeking a full time Maintenance Technician
The successful candidate must be able to operate heavy and light duty vehicles, the equipment needed to maintain borough streets, buildings, and grounds. Someone willing and able to work outside and serve on call after hours during weather emergencies is required. The Maintenance Technician will also maintain care of borough property, maintain a parts and tools inventory, and ensure that the service vehicles have routine maintenance preformed on time. The successful candidate will also conduct regular assessments of the Borough’s infrastructure and property. Also required are general skills to keep the work environment clean and neat, put away all tools, supplies, and equipment when in-house repairs are performed.
We are seeking an individual with desire to improve the Borough of East Berlin’s appearance by the upkeep of its facilities and grounds, while providing excellent service to residents and visitors. Preferred experience includes building, facilities, and street maintenance work experience.
Administrative and communication skills are needed to effectively use email, Excel, and Microsoft word to prepare reports for council. The full-time maintenance worker will act as liaison between staff members, residents, vendors, law enforcement, code enforcement, and elected officials. Effective verbal communication is also needed to provide supervision and field training of contracted, part time workers.
Applicants are required pass a background screening, pre-employment drug test, must be 18 years of age or older to operate equipment and perform essential duties. Valid driver’s license is required. The position requires lifting and physical exertion. We offer a competitive salary, and benefits package including medical, prescription, dental, vision, and life insurance.
