Police Chief Terry Seitz works full time on a flexible schedule. His office is located at the Borough Hall.
Pennsylvania State Police will respond to 911 calls when Chief Seitz is not on duty.

Northeast Adams Fire & EMS, Adams County Company 32, Station 1
- On January 1, 2019, Liberty Fire Company No. 1 of East Berlin officially merged with Lake Meade Fire and Rescue Inc. to become Northeast Adams Fire & EMS, Adams County Company 32. East Berlin Station #1 is located at 101 East Locust Street. Lake Meade Station #2 is located at 492 Lake Meade Drive.
